“LAIR” is derived from the classic Tarling language meaning “birth”, which is then interpreted to continuously give birth to something: music, thoughts, experiments, narratives, and the like. LAIR also attempts to adapt the Cirebon sintren dance, an embodiment revered by the sole female figure in LAIR, whimsical and mystical. Besides being a music group, LAIR serves as a platform or an ongoing research institution for each of its members.
